What is Baptism & How Should We Do It?
Baptism is the outward expression of the inward transformation that occurs through salvation. It is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus and an act of obedience to Him. At First Baptist, we practice believer's baptism by immersion, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus - and our new life in Him (Romans 6:4).
Who Should Be Baptized?
Those who have personally placed their trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, i.e. every follower of Christ. The pattern in Scripture is people hearing the Gospel of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:3-4), believing in Jesus
(Rom. 10:13-14, 17), and being baptized (Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 8:12, 16:34).
